A Night With Philadanco & Mannequin Modeling

Sweater, Forever 21; Blouse, Espirit; Skirt, H&M; Wedges, REACTION Kenneth Cole; Sunglasses, Forever 21;

Hello, all : ). Sorry I've been MIA for a while, lots of things going on, but I'm back for good. On Friday, February 6th, I went out for dinner with the family (California Pizza Kitchen), and then we went to go see Philadelphia Dance Company (Philadanco). They were really good, I was impressed. Whenever I see dancers, I always wish I had stuck with dance *sigh*. But it was a good night.

On Saturday, like I previously mentioned, I did a mannequin modeling event at a local mall. My group did Bandolinos, and we basically sat in the store window for two hours. It was a lot of fun though, especially watching the reactions of the people passing by. And, the two people who work at Bandolinos were so sweet. The event went well, and next up, we have our Spring runway show, and runway shows are always my favorite : )

After that, I went to a party (it was a busy weekend!), and did homework on Sunday. Throughout last week, I just worked on a lot of projects, and I was lucky enough to have a four day weekend last weekend. I did some shopping, since I needed a dress for a dance on Friday. It's semi-formal, so I didn't want to be Homecoming-dressy or party-casual. However, I couldn't find any good dress that was in between, so I settled : /.

Then, today, I received and OVERWHELMING amount of college mail, just those ones you get through Collegeboard when you get you PSAT/SAT scores. I mean, I usually just get a few each week, but lately I've been bombarded with emails, and today, I came home to find this:Crazy, isn't it? This is the most mail I've ever gotten in one day. Could ths be considered harassment? Massive assault? Overwhelm-ation? Haha, okay, I'll stop. My ramblings are done.

Bisous.

A Cause NEAR and DEAR to me...

As much as I care for starving children and melting icecaps, I need to recruit everyone's help for a cause that has just a teeny bit more of an impact on me at the moment.

As some of you may know, I've been working my BUTT off on my governor's school applications for the past two months. I FINALLY handed everything in on Monday, intent on crossing my fingers when the acceptance/rejection letter arrived on April 17.

However, earlier today, funding was cut for the Governor's schools... meaning that they aren't happening... at all. Which, is ironic that they decide to cut it the day that all the applications are due.

This means that me and 4,000 other Pennsylvania students have lost countless hours of sleep, missed many parties, and failed numerous tests (MIDTERMS!) just to have a shot at the Governor's school.

Clearly, this is an issue, which I why I NEED YOUR HELP. Please call this (the governor's) number--- 717-787-2500--- and urge for them to not cut the Governor's school. Do it whenever you can, every call makes a difference, and they DO listen. This is all over the news, and many of the alumni have been trying to work something out.

It's just a phone call, and it would mean a lot to me and a couple thousand other teenagers from Pennsylvania. I know I'm kind of rambling, but this really means A LOT to me.

Please contact PA Governor Rendell: 717-787-2500

On a lighter note, I have a mannequin modeling event on Saturday : ) I'll try to be back regularly starting next week. Bisous, loves.

Story of a Jetsetter: Part II

Story of a Jetsetter: Part II

After a long flight, Scarlett landed at Heathrow, and took the Underground to the West End where she found a hotel. The dawn of the next day was gray and dreary, but in a colorful Anna Sui frock and sparkly flats, she brightened up the streets of London town. Some shopping at Sisley and Zara and a fresh meal at Pret a Manger took up the beginning of her day, and by the afternoon, the clouds had cleared enough for a beautiful stroll through Kensington Gardens. Satisfied, she strolled around the ... Italian Garden fountains, and wondered which city would be her next destination.

*Sorry I haven't been on much. With my Gov. School apps and midterms all last week, I haven't had a lot of free time...

Sparkle and Skinnies

Blouse, Kensie; Skinnies, H&M; Trench Coat, H&M; Necklace, Charlotte-Russe; Headband, F21;

Hello, loves. How was everyone's week? Mine was very busy, I think I got maybe 20 hours of sleep this whole week. I had a ton of papers do, a fashion project to finish, lacrosse conditioning, and midterms next week.

This outfit was from Monday, I wore it despite all the snow we got where I lived, because I am a part of this group at a mall near me called Teen Board. We put on fashion shows at the mall, and help out with other mall activities. It's a lot of fun, and this is my second year in Teen Board. Monday was our first meeting of the year, and we have a show coming up the first week of February.
However, we usually do runway, and this time, we're doing mannequin modeling, where we basically split into groups and model in store windows. I'm so excited, but I'm kind of scared because we'll be in the windows for 45 minutes each. My group is modeling Finish Line and Bandolinos.

Well, that's all for now, I have some papers to fix : )

Bisous.

A Wonderful Day in History

Today marks the beginning of a new era in American history. For the first time ever, an African-American was elected and sworn in as the President of the United States of America.

I have faith that President Obama will do the best he can in making the US a better place. I stand behind him completely. I absolutely adore the Obama family. Michelle is so elegant and classy, she is bound to become a style icon for this century. And Malia and Sasha are adorable. They show poise and grace, while still radiating that infectious childlike-energy. thought they looked fabulous in their outfits today, and I especially liked Malia's coat.

Honestly, before November 4th, 2008, as much as I hoped and wished, I never truly believed that I would be able to see this day... or at least as soon as now. It's an incredible feeling, knowing that I am a part of history. And so are you : )

Story of a Jetsetter: Part I

Story of a Jetsetter: Part I

She was a starlet named Scarlett. Flawless, fabulous, and fierce, but sick of her monotonous, cliche Hollywood life. At seventeen, she had already cranked out five box-office hits and her last two albums went double-platinum. She was done with the charity galas, the movie premieres, the award shows. So, she grabbed her passport, slipped into a Moschino tunic and a pair of Ray-Bans, and boarded the next flight to London, the Cali sunset fading behind her.

New thing... Thoughts?

A Bit of Cabin Fever...

Cabin fever has hit me hard. With the planning of summer vacations, the menacing looks of my unfinished Governor's school applications, the less than friendly weather, and Fashion Week coming closer with each passing day, I have epic cabin fever. I am already a generally restless person, but January is killing me. My least favorite months are February and March, when the weather is extra crappy, and all the store are in the winter-spring limbo, with size-14 sweaters dominating the racks and the temptation to pay full price for a pair of sandals that I probably won't be able to wear for another month.

On the bright side, I finally bought the new Teen Vogue, though I was very disappointed how thin it was. But, Leighton Meester was on the cover, and being one of my style idols, I had to buy it. I think it's lovely how she has grown up over the past year and evolved with her style. Also, I think that she is brilliant as Blair on Gossip Girl, I don't think that anyone could do a better job than she does.

Hmmm, what else? I got a new nail color, it's a shimmery, very deep maroon color. The funny thing is, I usually don't paint my fingernails too often, but I've been buying nail polish a lot lately. Nail poliish=Something to do, besides go online... Though typing and clicking does help the polish dry faster, I must say.

Well I think that's all for now. How's everyone's year going? Feel free to comment, I always reply.

Bisous.

Tube time

Hello, loves. I know I haven't been on for a while, things have been busy.

I finally bought Breakfast at Tiffany's a few days ago. I watched it, and overall, it was a good movie. Ms. Hepburn sparkled like a Tiffany diamond. The music was good, the concept was cute, and it was funny at times. However, the movie didn't dazzle me. It shimmered. It shined. But, it didn't dazzle. I am planning on getting other Hepburn movies though, like My Fair Lady and Roman Holiday.

I also recently watched Pretty in Pink. It was also pretty good. Maybe it's just my love of the '80s movies... The humor is just so straight-forward, and some times it's just the cheesy-factor itself that cracks me up.

Gossip Girl last night= INSANE. Everyone who tried to talk to me between 8-9PM got the wrath, because I was so into it. I'm not going to spoil anything, but it was good.

I'll probably do another outfit post soon, so look out for that.

Bisous.
